FAQ

Q: Who is this for?
A: This class is for any adult who wants to find more confidence, ease, and awareness in their everyday life. Beginning and returning students are absolutely welcome.

Q: Is it about posture?
A: Think about posture as a celebration of the kinetic orchestra that is your always-moving body. You can use the Alexander Technique in any position, including sitting or standing in your full height. Stand up curved!

Q: Is this a dance or exercise class?
A: You can use IAT while you do other things and YES it can be applied to questions about dance and exercise and any other thing you want to do. IAT is an integrating process, not a codified set of movements. We use playful experimentation to explore IAT, and then put it right into practice with the activities you care about.

Q: Is this good for mindset?
A: Yes. One of the great benefits of IAT is noticing all the ways that we have choice about how we move, think, and communicate. We look at how you process and get to make choices both internal and external stimuli. That includes noticing how you talk to yourself, and how to do so constructively and with kindness.

Q: Is this a series or drop-in?
A: This is a Series is laid out in a sequence, with the first session laying the foundation. If you have to miss the first class, we will work together to schedule a short virtual make-up session for you. There are no make-ups for subsequent classes.
